Collect from the Book of Common Prayer, season after Pentecost, Proper 20:
Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Thanks. It speaks to me. I find it very helpful at times to pray prayers that are written by others. The Book of Common Prayer, which is a great gift to the church from our Anglican brothers and sisters, is an amazing treasury of prayer. In fact, since tomorrow is Missions Emphasis Sunday, I think I’m going to invite the Vinebranch congregation to pray this beautiful “Prayer for Mission” that is found there.
